From time to time chamber musicians produce ‘virtual concerts’ for online viewing during lockdown. Income from these performances can provide a valuable lifeline for freelancers during this difficult period.
The latest is a recital by Colla Voce, produced in association with Opera Caledonia and featuring Danny Miller (violin) with Margaret Donaldson (piano).
This beautiful candlelit concert, recorded at St. Vincent’s Chapel, Edinburgh during December presents a programme of operatic transcriptions for violin and piano featuring the music of, amongst others, Puccini, Bellini, Rossini and Tchaikovsky. Each item is introduced by Derek Clark, Head of Music at Scottish Opera.
The concert is available via link to a private YouTube channel and can be watched at the viewer’s leisure with no additional software or advanced technological skills required – simply click on the link and enjoy. Each link costs £10.00 and includes a PDF programme. If you would like to view this recital, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request their link.
All proceeds go towards the musicians involved in the recording and The Isle of Cumbrae Opera Retreat Festival 2022, a new musical venture comprising a weekend long programme of recitals, concerts, talks & events with some of Europe’s leading classical musicians. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral of the Isles on the Isle of Cumbrae, the 2022 Festival will include world class performances from leading musicians including, amongst others, Leonardo Catalanotto, Natasha Day, Fali Pavri and Martin Storey.
