Angus Kerr

It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Angus Kerr. Angus was a member of MiWK from its earliest days and was its third chair between 1999 and 2018. The organisation thrived under his leadership thanks to his enthusiasm and commitment. He, together with his wife, Jean, loved hosting visiting performers in their beautiful home and the MiWK committee enjoyed many post-concert soirées there in the company of the performers. Throughout his illness, Angus continued to support MiWK although he was unable to attend as many concerts as he would have liked.

Angus was himself an active musician singing tenor with Ayr Choral Union and as a member of the choir at the Cumnock Tryst.

Angus was also a distinguished architect and worked on many projects such as the Museum in Lerwick and Perth Concert Hall and was awarded The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland’s Lifetime Achievement Award for services to architecture in 2022.

The thoughts of everyone in MiWK are with Jean and family at this sad time. Angus will be sadly missed.
