Concert 27 March 2026

West Kilbride Village Hall 7.30 pm

It is rare for a local Music Society to host an orchestral ensemble but tonight we welcome the Kammerphilharmonie-Europa Chamber Orchestra, whose programme for the evening can be downloaded here:

The Kammerphilharmonie-Europa orchestra is based in Cologne and their extensive tours have taken them to (among others) Switzerland, Sweden, France, Great Britain, Denmark, Netherlands and Ireland. Their tour for 2025 /2026 will comprise a chamber orchestration of 8 musicians, and their repertoire is likely to include Vivaldi, Grieg, Ponchielli, Bach, Faure and Mozart

Founded in 2006 by Leonid Tritus, the Kammerphilharmonie-Europa is an independent orchestra focusing on classical music, bringing together dedicated musicians with the aim of forming an artistically sophisticated ensemble even without a permanent sponsor. Their touring ensembles draw upon 60 talented professional musicians from 18 nations. The central driving force behind their work is the desire to unite independently, especially in terms of repertoire and soloist selection.

Leonid Tritus (born 1962) began his musical career at the age of four in a boys’ choir and violin lessons. Parallel to his secondary school education, he attended the gifted program at the Volgograd Municipal Music School from 1969 to 1977. After completing specialized training as an orchestral musician from 1977 to 1981, he began studying percussion at the Yekaterinburg State Music Academy, and soon became assistant principal timpanist with the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra, where he enjoyed collaborations with renowned conductors such as Rostropovich, Katz, Kogan, Boreiko, Pletnov, and Kolobov.
