Coro Alba

Providing the perfect antidote to a wintry evening, we welcome the operatic ensemble, Coro Alba on 13th November 2026. Their programme for the evening can be downloaded here

Coro Alba perform a mixture of solos, duets, trios, quartets and choral numbers from a wide variety of music – opera, operetta, songs from the shows, Gilbert and Sullivan, Scottish songs and songs by popular composers. Above all, they are renowned for entertaining with humour, top quality singing and eloquent stage presence.

Coro Alba have performed in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, twice with John Innes, with Josh Groban and as part of a Raymond Gubbay Christmas extravaganza;  and in the Clyde Auditorium with The Priests when they came to perform in Glasgow.

For their performance at MiWK, Coro Alba’s line-up will comprise Emily Mitchell and Catriona Clark (soprano), Jane Monari and Sarah Shorter (mezzo soprano), Christian Schneeberger and Connor James Smith (tenor) and Colin Murray and Douglas Nairne (baritone). Between them, these singers have formidable experience of touring with operatic companies, and their common denominator is that they have all performed with Scottish Opera. They are accompanied by pianist Derek Clark, former Head of Music at Scottish Opera from 1997-2023.
